Refund & Exchange Policy
At J Hubbard and Son Ltd, we are committed to providing high-quality timber and hardware supplies and excellent customer service. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help – with no restocking fees.
Returns and Exchanges Eligibility
We gladly accept returns and exchanges for:
- Damaged or defective items
- Incorrect products received
- Change of mind (within the conditions listed below)
Timeframe for Returns
- Damaged or incorrect items: Must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
- Change of mind: Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery.
Returned items must:
- Be unused and in original, resellable condition
- Include original packaging and documentation
- Be accompanied by proof of purchase
Non-Returnable Items
The following products cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Custom-cut timber or special-order items
- Opened sealants, adhesives, paints, or chemical products
- Items that have been used, altered, or installed
- Clearance or final sale items
- Bulk bags of sand and gravel
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
- No restocking charges will be applied.
- Shipping fees are only refundable if the return is due to our error.
- J Hubbard and Son Ltd may request photographs that clearly demonstrate any reported defects.
Exchanges
If you received the wrong item or need a different product:
- Contact us to arrange an exchange.
- We will ship the replacement once the original item is returned and inspected.
- For change-of-mind exchanges, you need to cover the return shipping.

We recommend using a trackable shipping method.
Deliveries
- Times quoted for deliveries are estimates only.
- We always deliver with a 3.5 tonne flatbed – the customer must ensure sufficient access.
- We only offer curbside delivery. At least one person must be present to accept the delivery and sign the delivery note before timber is moved.
- The customer is responsible for any delivery charges incurred due to inaccurate information causing delivery, access, or offloading issues.
Product Descriptions
- J Hubbard and Son Ltd strives to make product descriptions as accurate as possible.
- We cannot warrant that descriptions are error-free.
